Developing Web-based Courses: A Hands-On Workshop

Presenter: Jan Lars Buhmann, MS,RN, BC

Workshop participants will engage in hands-on practice in all phases of web course development: exploring the functions of a learning management system; learning to outline and flowchart a course; retrieving, editing, and inserting images; using web course templates; and creating interactive exercises. Novices to web development will be presented with strategies that can be applied in many settings, from transforming PowerPoint modules for online delivery to developing web-based courses from scratch. Teaching effectiveness and productivity will be emphasized and good instructional design will be discussed.
