OVERVIEW
The National League for Nursing proudly presents A Guide to State-Approved Schools of Nursing RN, 2006 — a directory of state-approved schools of nursing offering educational programs that prepare students for RN licensure. This volume includes all associate degree, diploma, and baccalaureate programs that conducted programs in nursing education as of October 15, 2005. Graduates of these three types of basic nursing education programs may have differences in preparation, but all are eligible to take the examination that leads to RN licensure. The 2006 edition boasts a number of new features that enhance its utility for prospective nursing students, health planners, nurse administrators, nurse educators, and career and guidance counselors. In addition to providing key data on accreditation, enrollments, graduations, and faculty for each prelicensure nursing program, this volume offers a wealth of information to those interested in pursuing RN degrees about the variety of prelicensure programs in their region, state, or metropolitan area.
Prospective nursing students will find such added features as program acceptance rates, faculty-student ratios, tuition rates, and information on student demographics in a clear, easy-to-read format. This year’s volume also contains more than 2,000 graphs that allow the reader to easily compare a program’s tuition to that of comparable nursing programs in the same region.
