Using Assessment and Evaluation Strategies
(Core Competency 3):
Clinical Evaluation and Testing in Nursing Education
The goal of this consultation is to help nurse educators develop a
clinical evaluation process that is relevant for the course competencies and
can be used by faculty. The consultant will work with the faculty in developing
a clinical evaluation tool, selecting strategies for assessing and evaluating
learning in the clinical setting, and planning a system for evaluation in a
course. The consultant also will work with faculty in developing a process and
strategies for evaluating learning in the classroom and online courses. This
consultation can include writing test items to prepare students for the NCLEX
exam.
