National League for Nursing - Faculty Development

The NLN will lead in promoting the professional growth and continuous quality improvement of faculty and nursing education leaders who prepare the global nursing workforce.

This NLN goal has been given the highest priority and faculty development programs are offered in a wide variety of formats and venues. Examples include: the annual Education Summit, a large event attracting 2000 nurse educators; institutes and conferences on specific topics like technology, curriculum development, and nursing education research; regional workshops that are co-sponsored with state constituent leagues, member schools, or other nursing organizations; audio/web seminars that bring programs to the school via the web and a speaker phone; and online courses, including web-based Living Books .

This approach offers nurse educators a choice in terms of content, location, and type of program. In addition, the NLN is a provider for continuing education through the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET), so continuing education credits are available for every event.
