National League for Nursing - Certification for Nurse Educators

Welcome to the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) certification renewal page. The purpose of requiring certification renewal is to ensure that you have continued to expand your knowledge relevant to the role of an academic nurse educator. CNE certification status is granted for a period of five years. A certification period begins on the day you received your official passing test score and ends on the last day of the quarter in which you tested. You can obtain certification renewal by maintaining practice requirements and

  • fulfilling professional development requirements or
  • taking the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) examination.
