Continuing Designation as an NLN Center of
Excellence in Nursing Education
Continuation of designation as an NLN Center of Excellence
(COE) in Nursing Education is not automatic. During the last of year of the
designation, schools are encouraged to reapply for continued designation.
An application is only considered a continuing designation if
applying in the same category as the original application.
Application for COE designation in a different category is
considered a new application and all published procedures,
timelines, and fees apply.
Applications for continuing designation will undergo the same
rigorous review by the COE review panel as all other
applications. Continued designation will be recommended
only if the school provides evidence that all criteria were met.
